I've never done therapy before. What actually happens?

Honestly, most people come in feeling awkward, unsure, or wondering what they're supposed to say. That's completely okay.

A therapy session at Munnsense Counselling usually looks like a conversation. You talk about what's been weighing you down lately, and we unpack that together. Sometimes we write things down, sometimes we try breathing exercises, grounding exercises, or sometimes we even end up singing a lil song together.

There's no pressure to perform, or explain things perfectly, or talk about anything you're not ready for.

My life looks fine on the outside. So why do I still feel this way?

Many of us function well despite feeling restless, lonely, or literally drained inside. Therapy isn't only for breakdowns. It's also for when holding it together gets harder.

If you keep wondering why something is bothering you this much, it's usually a sign that your system needs support.

What if my problems aren't serious enough?

If it's affecting your mood, your relationships, your sleep, or your peace of mind, it is serious enough.

You don't need a big reason to seek therapy. Feeling stuck, confused, emotionally drained, constantly overthinking, or unsure of yourself are all valid reasons to reach out and seek extra support.

I'm scared of being judged or misunderstood.

Understandable. If you've spent years being told to adjust, stay quiet, or not make a fuss, this fear of being judged makes complete sense.

Do you do therapy in Marathi?

Yes, therapy sessions are available in Marathi, Hindi and English.

I work online with clients across India. Being Marathi-speaking, and raised in a metropolitan city like Mumbai, I'm culturally familiar with my clients. That helps my clients feel understood and more at ease.

Is online therapy actually helpful?

Yes, especially for anxiety and emotional regulation.

Being in your own space often helps you open up more easily. There's no travel stress, no unfamiliarity of a clinical setting, and you can show up exactly as you are (which means you don't have to get out of your very cute pajamas).

How often do I need therapy sessions?

There's no fixed rule.

Some prefer weekly sessions, others schedule a session once in 2 weeks. Some even prefer keeping it flexible, depending on their emotional and financial capacity. We decide the session frequency together. Nothing is forced.

I'm worried about the cost. Therapy feels expensive.

That's a very real concern.

At Munnsense Counselling, frequency of therapy sessions is flexible. Moreover, sliding scale discount slots are offered whenever possible. Therapy should support your life, not add pressure to it. We talk openly about what feels manageable for you.
